Made by hand, in Lagos
Hawlarfits began with a pair of slides and a stubborn idea: that everyday footwear made here, by hand, could stand beside anything shipped in.
Every pair is cut, lasted and finished in a small Lagos workshop. We buy leather and suede in short runs, which is why a colour sometimes disappears and comes back a season later, and why nothing is made in quantities we cannot check ourselves.
The pieces are meant to be worn, not saved for occasions. Leather softens, suede takes on a nap, and a sole that has been walked in for a year should look like it. The care guide is there to help that happen slowly.
We are a small team. If something is wrong with your pair, a message reaches an actual person, usually the same one who packed it.
